Once a message is bumped, your friend you bumped the message to will see the message when they login to Messenger.

You can use the Messenger pin feature as an alternative to bump a message. You can pin a particular pin to a previously discussed message to appear in recent chats. To do this:
When you pin a message, your Messenger friend will receive a notification that a message was pinned. And you can pin as many messages as you want.
The forward message feature is another way to replace the bump if it’s not appearing on your Messenger app.
If you want to remind a friend of a topic you two discussed in an older chat. Search for the message »»» tap and hold the message »»» tap the three dots »»» forward »»» tap the name of your friend »»» send. Once you click on the send button the message will be forwarded.
They will see the message as a new message when they log in to their Messenger app.
In platforms like Telegram, and WhatsApp, you can use the swipe feature to directly reply or refer to a particular previously discussed chat.
When you use swipe, it will bring up a reply box with the original message quoted at the top. You can then type your reply or reference to the message and send it.
If you want to use this feature on Messenger, swipe left when you are referring to a previous message you sent.
On the other hand, you need to swipe right when referring to the message your friend sent.
